“Perusing the Perimeter” Fantasy Football: Championship Week 16

Fantasy Football is very similar to Texas Hold ‘em Poker….takes a little bit of luck but the more skillful players usually end up sitting at the final table……Your fantasy football team is your hand and whether you are the mighty favored hand of “Pocket Rockets” (Ace-Ace) or The underdog hand of “The Doyle Brunson” (2♠-10♣) its all how you play your cards…and this week is “All In” Week…Go big or go home… Those of you who have made it in the championship match this week… Congratulations…Those of you who haven’t well there is always next year or for the addicts….fantasy basketball and then fantasy baseball around the corner…

In Poker there is no guarantee as “The River” can sink many ships…Last week we saw Doug Martin, Jamaal Charles, Danario Alexander and some cases Lawrence Tynes all drown many peoples hopes and dreams of fake football glory…This is a week to leave nothing to chance and in this Championship edition of “Perusing the Perimeter” we encourage taken huge risks and going with your gut this week if you feel the need to do so..I feel whatever will be this week will be…Wait until Saturday Night or Early Sunday morning (heaven forbid The Yahoo Site crashes again) after you make your final wavier adds and take a good long look at your respective lineups and set it… save it and let it ride…don’t over think it…because remember it takes a little luck …and maybe Santa has you on the nice list this year and persuade the fantasy football gods to shine upon your team this Sunday…Anything…ANYTHING!!!.. can happen…there is a reason you are sitting at the final table…You! …Yes, You made it this far and now is not the time to doubt your team and your ability to bring home the title…as long as you have “Outs” you are always in the hand…so Bluff your opponent this week in making the wavier wire an absolute crap show, pick up players he may need only to drop them the day or two before..Re-Raise your opponent in talking as much smack as possible all week….Imagine Your are holding a 3 ♦ and a 4 ♦ and limp in and win the first round by simply checking the blind…the flop is 5 ♦, Ace ♠, and King ….You have re-raised by beating your opponent in Week 15 to move to the championship bout going heads up for the title…the turn…a 8 ♣..helps no one…but your opponent moves all in with his King ♠ and King ….Week 16 is all about whether or not you are going to call? Well, only one way to see the river…You nervously say, “Call.” and flip your cards…here goes nothing You think to yourself..your opponent flips his Pocket Kings and your heart drops….The dealer flips the river card…..

I will be grouping the offensive skill positions listing my “Likes” first and then “Dislikes”….After that I will color code them from most comfortable to least comfortable on placing into my starting lineup This week. Just trying to further give you some clarity on the fantasy football landscape for the upcoming week..Hope its not to confusing and hope it ultimately helps…as the last 2012 fantasy football edition of “Perusing the Perimeter” I want nothing more than for you to be the champion of your fantasy football league……And of course Do not forget to check out The “Perusing the Perimeter” Podcast on Thursdays Nights (<- Click for this week’s episode With behind this site, Trader X)  and “A Case of the Whudeys” Monday Mornings on FT411 Radio Network..

Sam Bradford (STL) Start your QBs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ryan Fitzpatrick (BUF) Maybe he has a solid week with a easier matchup than the one he had a week ago
Jake Locker (TEN) Showed some good things Monday night…given the state of Green Bay’s Secondary…could serve you well…
Chad Henne (JAC) The duel between Michigan QBs…he seems to get up when playing the Patriots…
Joe Flacco (BAL) at Home?!
Nick Foles (PHI) Washington can be exposed through the air…and the return of McCoy may create breathing room for him to throw
……………………………………
Jay Cutler (CHI) Smoking Jay isn’t to be trusted this week…
Andy Dalton (CIN)/Ben Roethlisberger(PIT) If you have them…sure you are probably  rolling with them..but I am not betting on HUGE production out of either in this rivalry game with so much a stake…(#WHODEY!)
Matt Stafford (DET) Gosh he really crapped the bed last week…
Colin Kaepernick (SF) Show me you can do it to this defense this week and I’ll make my own rap video with my daughter about him this week…
Russell Wilson (SEA) RW3 …I love him for last week..but in no way am I crazy for thinking that happens two weeks in a row…
Drew Brees (NO) Had a great performance a week ago..and …well…that may not be the case this week…

Reggie Bush (MIA) No Daniel Thomas…I like his chances this week…even with Lamar Miller getting a few totes…
Adrian Peterson (MIN) Only put him here because If you are debating sitting him this week you are crazy!!! Regardless of the matchup…the man is determined to break that record..and in turn reward your fantasy team..
Vick Ballard (IND) Ran hard against the Texans a week ago…I’m liking this no Donald Brown being around..and he seems to agree
DeAngelo Williams (CAR) 2 weeks in a row he has scored…Vs. Oakland..yes, I know Tolbert is back in the mix..but DWill has been making the most of his touches..something you couldn’t say for about two years now…
Knowshon Moreno (DEN) Keep on trucking with him..
Danny Woodhead (NE) Ridley and Vereen fumbled and BB went to the safety blanket in Danny…hard to not  imagine a situation where they are in the redzone and Danny gets a touch or three…
………………………………………..
Marshawn Lynch (SEA)/Frank Gore (SF) If you have other options that you may like to play in the earlier games…don’t be afraid to do so…who knows what may or may not happen in the SNF Contest…You could very well be leaving points on the bench that could have helped..
Darren McFadden (OAK) Lack of Trust here…
Steven Jackson (STL) Tampa Bay Run D….
The LawFirm (CIN) Been very very solid the last month or so…I expect him to get his 20 carries but may be a tough day in what should be a physical contest…
CJ Spiller (BUF) Only if Ryan Fitz is capable of keeping the ball out of the other team hands do I like him this week..
Ray Rice (BAL) Welp, Cam Cameron finally leaves and things got worse…

Stevie Johnson (BUF) Had a very solid game a week ago…hope he feeds off of it…

Justin Blackmon (JAC) Crabtree looked like Micheal Irvin a week ago…
Jeremy Maclin (PHI) Washington D vs. WRs has been fantasy gold all year..don’t fear going back to the well…
Micheal Crabtree (SF) Been very solid production the last few weeks…its a gamble this week but Stevie Johnson did some positive things a week ago..

Torrey  Smith (BAL) If healthy enough to give it a go…I like his chances this week..but Flacco may not protect him from another concussion
St.Louis Rams WRs … They all could be productive this week…but Givens, Gibson, and if Amendola gives it a go..are the main one here..very risky

………………………………………………

Oakland WRs Carson Palmer or Terrell Pryor who cares they both suck…AVOID
Kansas City WRs ….hell even Jamaal Charles…after last week when the Chiefs got beat by the kicker..sure doesn’t get much worse than that for an offense…
Marques Colston/Lance Moore (NO) If Brees struggles….
Brandon Marshall (CHI) Patrick Peterson can you step your game up two weeks in a row?
AJ Green (CIN) Tomlin will scheme to limit AJ as much as possible..
Josh Gordon (CLE) After last week in the tasty matchup…not a chance this week…but 2013 … that’s a different story

Heath Miller (PIT) Sure is nice to have Big Ben back…
Greg Olsen (CAR) With Cam playing the way he is .. very comfortable starting him this week..
Lance Kendricks (STL) Bradford has been looking his way in the RZ lately
Brandon Meyers (OAK) Either Quarterback will look for him this week…
Martellus Bennett (NYG) “The Black Unicorn” rides into the year they way he arrived…
Jermaine Gresham (CIN) been steady production from him the last few weeks…very safe option this week
………………………………………………..
Jermicheal Finely (GB) I don’t know with to do with him..and neither does Aaron
Dennis Pitta (BAL) Last week was nice…
Vernon Davis (SF) On most nights Mike Singletary haunts him in his sleep screaming “We Want winners?!” …
Antonio Gates (SD) Phillip Rivers
Tony Scheffler (DET) Just isn’t sexy enough to warrant the start here..
Dallas Clark (TAM) after last week I want nothing to do with Josh Freeman
