“Perusing the Perimeter” 2012 Fantasy Football: Week 7

I hate this game we play fantasy football sometimes..each week is full of surprises..few things through week 6 seems clear cut…other than Arian Foster will score a TD …ANYTHING can really happen..For Example…I hate Phillip Rivers for blowing the game the way he did Monday Night .. was up by 30 and played against the Denver D and Prater…lost by 5…Ugh Yuck..and instead of going to 2-4..I sit at 1-5… but you know what??..It’s not over !!..You guys out there keep fighting because from here on out in many of your leagues the picture to the playoffs is starting to shape up… so size up up your situation and NEVER give up..This season is far from over!!..Below I got my Top 12 in all Offensive Skill Positions because …Well I am here to help…Onward to Week 7…

Week 7 brings BYE Weeks for San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs… So Let’s get right down to breaking down the week ahead in the NFL from fantasy football perspective…..

QBs:

1.Drew Brees (NO) – Coming off a BYE in desperate need of another big time W expect him to show up BIG time…

2.Aaron Rodgers (GB) – The MVP has returned to his throne…

3.Robert Griffin III (WAS) – The Fantasy Trade 411 Radio brothers at the Tebow Sports Show suggest if healthy he is a fantasy MUST START…and I totally agree…

Tie-4.Tom Brady(NE) – In BIG games when has Tom not shown up??

Tie-4.Eli Manning(NYG) – Eli has come into a zone ..going up against WAS DBs and Nicks getting healthier..Yes Please!

5.Ben Roethlisberger(PIT) – Cincinnati Secondary has struggled to create turnovers and D as a whole is mega soft…

6.Andy Dalton(CIN) – Oh how the mighty have gotten old and fallen..the PIT D is no longer to be feared with it being incomplete and vulnerable..Andy should continue to put up decent numbers..

7.Matthew Stafford(DET) - Garbage Time King should keep his crown on Monday Night..

8.Cam Newton(CAR) – Have to think he comes out the Bye week refocused..at least my fantasy teams sure hope that’s the case..still remains a threat to score a Rushing TD

9.Jay Cutler(CHI) – DET Secondary one of the softest …

10.Tony Romo(DAL) – Has he finally cleaned his game up?

Tie-11.Carson Palmer(OAK) – In a tough bye week for QBs I like him to do solid work..

Tie-11.Matt Schaub(HOU) – B’More  has lost Webb for the season … and can’t stop anyone..with the heart of the D in Ray Lewis on the shelf…he can get comfortable finding his weapons..

Tie-12.Josh Freeman(TAM) – BYE Week Special…

Tie-12.Andrew Luck(IND) – Another BYE Week Special..(If choosing between Freeman and Luck..I choose Luck..Cleveland is an excellent matchup..and Freeman has more of a chance of blowing it)

*Christian Ponder (MINN) – Don’t like him this week versus a strong ARZ D but we all know how he preformed against SF a week ago…

*Ryan Fitzpatrick (BUF) – He has found ways to throw more picks than TDs in game..this could be another one of those..

RBs

1.Arian Foster(HOU) – BAL Run D has given up over 150 yards rushing the last two weeks..With the best back in the league wanting to play better than he did a week ago..Love Him!

2.Doug Martin(TAM) – Blount may have been getting his touches but Martin is the guy no question…could be the #1 PPR Back this week..I smell a breakout game..

3.Ray Rice(BAL) – I said it a week ago but FEED HIM THE BALL..

4.Alfred Morris(WAS) – SF bailed from the run game early a week ago..I don’t think that happens with Griffin and Co. this week..

5.Chris Johnson(TENN) – Unbelievable I have ranked him here but if he doesn’t have a BOOM Game against a D that has stopped no one..then I’d bench him forever after Week 7..

6.Darren Sproles(NO) – With J.Graham being iffy..the game plan may revolve around getting him the football early and often..

7.Matt Forte(CHI) – Don’t like this guy but figure he is due for a decent outing .. especially after the BYE

8.Darren McFadden(OAK) – Looked good a week ago…softer matchup..should help him this week…

9.Maurice Jones-Drew(JAX) – Let’s face it folks …. He is still this whole team ..

10.Trent Richardson(CLE) – After the Flank injury put him on the shelf for the second half a week ago (and had me mad as all hell when Hardesty scored) .. he says he is fine and will play .. still a MUST START after the blip on the radar…

11.Adrian Peterson(MINN) – Have to think he wants to score this week!!

12.Ahmad Bradshaw(NYG) – Dealing with a foot injury… whats new??!?… but if he plays and starts I guess its a gamble but with the BYE week …one I’ll take..but if he doesn’t play disregard my previous statement…

*Shonn Grenne (NYJ) – What he did a week ago ..was unexpected and will NEVER happen again..

*Benjarvus Green-Ellis  (CIN) – Looks like while the weather is nice .. the Bengals will throw..and Marvin wants to get Peerman more involved doesn’t bode well for the “feature back”

Cruz stepping his game up to another level..

WRs

1.Victor Cruz(NYG) – Finally living up to those Time Warner Cable commercials…

2.AJ Green(CIN) – MATCHUP PROOF..

3.Calvin Johnson(DET) – He will get his as usual would like to see him score some TDs

4.Brandon Marshall(CHI) – Jay throws to him a lot..could have a HUGE Game

5.Mike Wallace(PIT) – Bengals love to give up BIG plays..

6.Hakeem Nicks(NYG) – Healthier and with Eli at QB there is a lot to like..finally..

7.Larry Fitzgerald(ARZ) – Skelton under center and that means more targets for Fitz..

8.Dez Bryant(DAL) – Broke out a week ago..have to believe in the momentum..

Tie-9.Antonio Brown(PIT) – See Mike Wallace..

Tie-9.Jordy Nelson(GB) – He may not score 3 TDs again but with Jennings still out.. he is the man..

Tie-10.Andre Johnson(HOU) – No Webb and he can have a monster game with the play action working to perfection..

Tie-10.James Jones(GB) – All he does is score TDs..

11.Denarius Moore(OAK) – Looking like the #1 WR in Oakland and I love the explosiveness

12.Percy Harvin(MINN) – Still have to the like the playmaker for Minnesota to perform his best on Sunday

*Wes Welker(NE) – If the Jets want any chance of winning gonna have to limit Wes’s production

*Reggie Wayne (IND) – Haden will limit his numbers well because Wayne is no Green..

TEs

1.Jimmy Graham(NO) – Rumors of him missing time … If he does then disregard the ranking but if he doesn’t Brees will find him…

2.Gronk(NE) – Me Gronk… Me Score… Me Spike Ball…

3.Jason Witten(DAL) – Romo’s Safety Balnket has re-established himself back into the O in the BIG D

4.Vernon Davis(SF) – Don’t like the TNF but still have to like his role in the SF Offense

5.Aaron Hernandez(NE) – Make it Rain!!!!

6.Kyle Rudolph(MINN) – The Cincinnati Kid is “En Fuego”…Scoring TDs like its going out of style…

7.Heath Miller(PIT) – Cincy LBs are weak sauce in coverage..

8.Jermaine Gresham(CINN) – Number #2 Passing Option in the offense..

9.Fred Davis(WAS) – Garcon hobbling … Davis still getting his…

10.Brandon Pettigrew(DET) – Stafford will exploit the match ups the Lions try to dictate vs. Brandon

11.Owen Daniels(HOU) – Was rendered useless a week ago..but like I said with A.Johnson the play action should be working to perfection..

12.Scott Chandler (BUF) – Titans give up the most points to TE..enough said…

*Jermicheal Finely (GB) – Maybe he should think about all the TD passes he has dropped in his career before he starts blaming Rodgers for chemistry issues..

*Greg Olsen (CAR) – Thinking the Rushing attack is front and center this week..

Other Notes:

David Wilson (NYG) – Now might be a great time to stash him .. if he has been dropped I think he becomes more valuable down the stretch .sucks for Andre Brown but on the bright side now has his “Al Bundy Polk High” Story he can tell his kids later on in life..

Tom Crabtree(GB) – With Finely becoming utterly ineffective …. Crabtree has Rodgers looking for him .. not sure if the usage will change ASAP but it is something to monitor going forward…I’d Stash as it could pay huge dividends … with Finely running his mouth the opportunity is there for the taking…

Avoid the Thursday Night game … If at all costs…. I know I listed Vernon before and understand if you have no choice but to roll out Gore and Lynch at RB…but don’t expect much production complete game of chance and luck here…again avoid..

Ben Tate(HOU)-This might be an excellent week to use the Foster/Tate Tandem as the Texans will look to regain their identity and run the football against the soft Baltimore Run D..BOTH could have huge days on the ground …
