Perusing the Perimeter: Week 5 Fantasy Football

Our Leader here on FT411, Trader X,  in recent weeks has been putting together FreeRolls on Daily Fantasy Football Sites and this week He bring you another one on DraftDay.com here: http://www.draftday.com/fantasytrade411 So if you like free Money it is in your best interest ot sign up .. And in this week’s “Perusing the Perimeter” I am here to help by bringing you vaule plays on the site so that you can get your slice of the pie…So I will bring you you the best of both worlds .. I will highlight those who I like in Standard Leagues this week But, If you play regular fantasy football why not give DraftDay a test run this weekend?? .. You might become hooked…besides who doesn’t like free money??  I know I do so let’s get right into who I favor for Week 5 and those well..not so much…

After last week’s comeback win ..there should be little doubt why they call him “Matty Ice”

Quarterbacks

Matt “Matty Ice” Ryan – ATL : He is “En Fuego” no futher explaination needed… as I eat my huge helping of crow for dissing this guy in the preseason..
Matt Schaub -HOU : Yes, We all know that The 4-0 Texans are a Run first team but the domincane of it has allowed Matt to have the play-action work to perfection..He has been very efficent the last two weeks and I like for the trend to continue vs.The Revis-less New York Jets

Peyton Manning – DEN : He faces his career nemises in Tom Brady and The Patriots this weekend and we all know they have his number .. can’t say that I trust Manning to put up the numbers he did a week ago..proceed with caution this week..
Ryan Tannenhill – MIA ($9,850) : The Cincinnati Bengals in recent weeks have made Gabbert and Weeden look decent as QBs … If Leon Hall and Dre Kirkpatrick are ruled OUT for Sunday’s game ..Its not far fetched to think he performs almost as well as he did a week ago..
Running Backs
Darren Sproles – NO : A bit of revenge is in order for Mighty Mouse who was under utlized in San Diego as they face off this weekend look for him to give them a taste of what they been missing..
Maurice Jones-Drew – JAX : I was very surprised the Bengals were able to limit MJD’s production a week ago .. and we all know he owns himself in fantasy football and was probably McKayla Maroney ”Not Impressed” with his numbers .. He fixes that this week…
Benjarvius Green-Ellis – CIN : The Miami Run D is solid and with The LawFirm having a case of fumbles in Losing 2 in the last two weeks and failing to score a week ago on 3 point blank tries on the GL .. as much as I am a fan of the home team .. I don’t like his chances to produce this week and should be on your bench unless you have no choice given that Martin, Murray, Leshoure, McFadden are on byes..
Trent Richardson – CLE : I strongly disliked him a week ago .. and for that I was wrong…T-Rich I believe is a must start every week ..its clear he is the offense and will find paydirt on consistent basis..he is a must start rest of the way…He is no LeSean McCoy but he should have another solid day against the New York Football Giants
Wide Recieving
Julio Jones – ATL : After being a non-factor a week ago..Washington has given up the most points to WRs so far in 2012 and makes Julio a great play for a HUGE day..
Brain Hartline – MIA : The Targets are there and the secondary hasn’t been anything to write home about..he could produce but he could also stink up the joint as he is very inconsistent ..The Ohio State Alum should have family and friends in attendance which makes for strong motivation to have a great game..
Devone Bess – MIA : Everyone is hyping the crap outta Hartline but Bess has consistently been the go-to guy for this ball club and the Bengals Secondary may shift its focus to Hartline leaving Bess open to roam..
Steve Smith – CAR : The Seattle DBs are big and physical which makes for a decoy kinda day for the small but strong WR ..don’t think he will have more than 2 catches for 25 yards…
Tight Ends
Antonio Gates -SD ($9,450) : 2 Weeks of Gates Missing in Action…but the Saints D can not stop anything so he should get his..
Greg Olsen – CAR : The last two weeks we have seen Olsen get more and more involved in the offense and with the DBs limiting Smith and LaFell Production Olsen figures to be THE guy to pick up the slack…
Mercedes Lewis -JAX ($6,900) : Looks like he is ready to put a gross 2011 campaign behind him .. he has scored two weeks in a row and Gabbert is clearly looking for him in the Redzone..
Scott Chandler – BUF : The 49ers LBs won’t allow Chandler to be available to Ryan Fitzpatrick in the RZ … I’d avoid like the plague..
More DraftDay Value Plays

Battle the Number #1 Back on the depth chart?

Running Backs
Jackie Battle -SD ($8,050) : Norv has come out and made this guy the #1 RB on the depth chart .. I’m a wee bit dubious but at the price tag could make for a solid play if he is the GoalLine back against the soft New Orleans D
James Casey -HOU ($4,000) : The TE/RB is listed as a RB and he saw paydirt in Week 4 .. with Bart Scott covering Daniels (Vernon Davis was shut down a week ago..) and double coverage being utilized on Andre Johnson..I have a gut feeling he may score again..
Wide Receivers
Josh Gordon -CLE ($4,000) : With Josh Cribbs, Travis Benjamin  Mohammed Massquoi all being Questionable .. and Greg Little’s hands being suspect maybe the raw but talented WR finally gets some considerable work ..keep an eye on the injury report..
Randall Cobb – GB ($8,900) : Greg Jennings is out and that leaves targets to be spread out so figures that Cobb will get an slight uptick in targets..
FLEX
Greg Little – CLE ($6,750) : Like I mentioned with Gordon all the WRs are banged up except for this guy, Norwood, and Gordon..he is still listed as the #1 WR and is worth the gamble in my opinion
Jerome Simpson – MIN ($8,700) : He Returns from suspension a week ago and produced decent numbers .. after getting his feet wet and playing at home for the first time …it is time for him to show off..
D/ST
Packers – ($6,450) : Veteran D vs. a Rookie QB always makes for a great play .. look for Charles Woodson to bait Luck into throwing INTs..not to mention the pass rush is starting to come along..
Panthers – ($5,300) : Seattle isn’t an offensive juggernaut as they use their defense to keep them close in games granted the Run D is weak ..after RW3 showed a week ago he is capable of making multiple mistakes via Interceptions could very well be a low scoring affair

Kickers
Mike Nugent -CIN ($5,950) & Dan Carpenter -MIA ($5,050) : This game between the Bengals and Dolphins could be a shoot out or it could be a lot of stalled drives that result in a lot of long Field Goal attempts… I like them both this week..
